Veteran Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah has said talent by itself is not enough to build a successful and enduring career in the entertainment industry, stressing that discipline and consistency are what keep professionals relevant over time.
Speaking in an interview shared on Instagram, the award-winning actor reflected on his more than three decades in Nollywood and the lessons he has learned throughout his career.
Prompt News reports Nouah explained that many people mistake fame for success without recognising the hard work, sacrifices and challenges that happen behind the scenes.
“I’ve come to know and learn that talent is not enough. Discipline is what actually keeps you consistent when inspiration fails you.
“A lot of people assume that success is giving, but it’s not. They never see the work, the effort, the doubts and everything behind the scenes.
“They always think that when you’re famous, you’re successful already. That’s not what it takes,” he said.
When asked whether achieving success is more difficult than maintaining it, the actor said remaining consistent is the greater challenge.

According to him, success can come unexpectedly, but only discipline enables people to sustain it over the long term.
“Success is a given, but it can happen just once. Consistency is what really matters. And for you to be consistent, you need discipline,” he added.
Nouah is widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s most respected actors. Over a career spanning more than 30 years, he has starred in numerous acclaimed films and has also built a reputation as a director and producer, with projects such as Living in Bondage: Breaking Free among his notable works.
