Nollywood actress Evan Okoro, best known for her role as Doctor Maria in Sexy Investment, has cried out over disturbing threats from her estranged husband, alleging that he vowed to kill her if she ever left the marriage.
In an emotional video posted online, Okoro revealed that she is living in fear after enduring repeated threats and emotional abuse. She said she has already reported the matter to the police for her safety.
“If you leave me, I will kill you,” she quoted him.
Speaking on the state of their failed marriage, the actress said she now regrets ever getting involved with him.
“This marriage is not working. The shoe I took home is not my size. They didn’t pay my bride price, and my family recently called them to come and do it properly.”
Okoro accused her estranged husband of becoming increasingly aggressive and controlling, especially over her finances. She recounted how he attempted to take money from her during a business trip to Lagos.
“I got a little money for an advert in Lagos, less than my normal endorsement fee. He wanted the money, and when I refused, he got angry. He didn’t even call to check on me after the trip. It’s been over two weeks now.”
She also said he has completely withdrawn from the marriage, offering no emotional or financial support. Despite reporting the situation to his family, she claimed nothing has changed.
“He’s jealous of my success,” she said, reacting to rumours that he may be planning to harm her following her public announcement about building a house. “I built that house myself. I started it before he came into my life.”

Visibly distressed in the video, Okoro explained that she has been having troubling dreams and hearing unsettling whispers, which made her fear for her life and decide to speak publicly.
“I’m not asking anyone for money. I just want to finish my house and focus on my life. If I keep living like this, I will go down six feet.”
