By Gracious Akujobi         The pre-season tournament organized by the League Management Company (LMC) ended Tuesday in Abuja.

Enyimba FC beat rivals, Kano Pillars to emerge champions of the tournament, garnering the maximum nine points at the end of the round robin games.
The FA Cup champions defeated Pillars with a goal by Sibi Gwar in the 85th minute of the game after they had earlier beaten Bayelsa United and Warri Wolves 3-0 and 2-0 respectively.
Speaking shortly after the match Head Coach of Enyimba Zakari Baraje said his side came prepared to win and are ready to take their winning streak to the 2013/2014 league season and CAF Champions league.
According to him “I’m employed to win. I think I’m elevated by this victory because in Enyimba you have to win, win and win. I have started winning and I pray it will continue to be so with the support of other technical crew and Abia state government”.
Also speaking Kano Pillars gaffer, Abdullahi Maikaba, praised the effort of his team saying “this tournament is good for us as we prepare for the continental clash and a new season because it is being organized to prepare us”. In the other game played earlier, Warri Wolves defeated Bayelsa United 2-1.
As the champions Enyimba will be rewarded with a cash gift of N1.5 million, the runners up, Kano Pillars will get N1 million, Warri Wolves and Bayelsa United will get N750, 000 and N500, 000 respectively.
