Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi has completed a permanent move to Belgian Pro League club KRC Genk from Italian side Pisa SC, Prompt News Online reports.
Durosinmi, Genk’s second signing of the summer transfer window, has signed a four-year contract with the Smurfs.
The 23-year-old arrives at the Cegeka Arena after a brief six-month stint with Pisa, where he recorded one goal and one assist in 14 Serie A appearances.
Before his move to Italy, Durosinmi enjoyed an impressive spell with Czech First League outfit Viktoria Plzeň.
The powerful forward established himself as one of the league’s most prolific attackers, scoring 35 goals and providing 10 assists in 86 appearances across all competitions.
Durosinmi revealed that former Genk striker Paul Onuachu played a key role in convincing him to make the move to the Cegeka Arena.
“I want to be important for the team from day one, score goals, and give everything in every match.,” Durosinmi told the club’s official website.
“I spoke with Paul about the club.He told me many great things about Genk, the supporters, and the way the club works with players. I am proud to be a Genkie.”
Genk will be hoping Durosinmi can rediscover the form he displayed in the Czech Republic as they prepare for the new Belgian Pro League campaign.
