Derby County midfielder David Ozoh is awaiting approval from the English Football Association to switch his international allegiance to Nigeria and represent the Super Eagles, Prompt News reports.
Born in Valencia, Spain, to Nigerian parents, the player relocated to England at a young age.
The 20-year-old has previously featured five times for England at the U-18 level.
The central midfielder is expected to be included in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming Unity Cup later this month.
He is seen as a potential replacement for the injured Alex Iwobi, who recently sustained a hamstring injury while playing for Premier League side Fulham.
Ozoh is currently on loan at Sky Bet Championship club Derby County from Crystal Palace.
The versatile midfielder has netted two goals in 32 league appearances for the Rams.
