Nigerian music star, Davido, has revealed that he is reconsidering his earlier interest in joining politics, noting that the experiences of other celebrities have influenced his decision.
The singer made this known during a livestream on Twitch with streamer Davrel, where he spoke candidly about his changing perspective on political involvement.
According to Davido, although he once considered venturing into politics, his observations over time have made him more cautious, especially given the struggles faced by entertainers who attempted similar transitions.
“Before, I wanted to go into politics but honestly, now, I see it two ways. All my years of goodwill, my name and my career, all the hard work and the fan base we have built, it is tricky because the way people look at things; the superstars that have gone into politics, the transition hasn’t really been successful,” he said.
He added that politics appears to require a different level of commitment and identity, suggesting that it may not easily align with a career in entertainment.

“I feel like if you are a politician, you are a politician. It is like it is their business,” Davido added.
