Veteran musician Daddy Showkey has opened up about how Afrobeats sensation Wizkid helped him take his first step into the world of social media.
During a chat with producer Maleek Berry, the legendary “Galala” star recalled a visit to Wizkid’s home that unexpectedly marked his initiation into Instagram.
According to him, he was surprised to find out he was trending online — all thanks to a post from Wizkid himself.

That moment sparked his curiosity.
“I had a special call today from @maleekberry and I shared a story of how @wizkidayo introduced me and also helped me open my Instagram account,” Daddy Showkey shared. “And how @iam_kcee also shared knowledge on how to navigate the app.”
He expressed appreciation for KCee as well, crediting the singer for offering useful insights on how to navigate the platform after he joined.
Reflecting on the experience, Showkey added:
“Life is about learning, and applying the knowledge is key to the life we live now.”
Now more active online, the Ajegunle-born icon says embracing digital platforms has helped him evolve with the times and stay closer to his fanbase.
