A Magistrates’ Court in Kano, on Wednesday, sentenced two vagrants to eight months imprisonment and 12 strokes of cane for being in possession of hard drugs.
The police charged Abba Ya’u,19 and Abubakar Abdullahi, 21 with possession of hard drugs and public nuisance.
Magistrate Farouk Ibrahim-Umar sentenced them without option of fine.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Elias Ekainu, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on July 22, at Fagge Quarters Kano.
He said at about 11 p.m the convicts were arrested in possession of three sachets of Ryphanol tablet and 88 pieces of Exzol tablet.
The convicts, he said, were arrested selling and consuming the drugs. (NAN)
