A Canada-based Nigerian woman, Prophetess Ezinne Nwanorue, has sparked widespread reactions on social media after publicly celebrating the death of her mother-in-law in a series of posts on Facebook.
Nwanorue shared the funeral poster of her late mother-in-law, Comfort Nwanorue, and described the deceased in derogatory terms while alleging she had suffered at her hands.
In the post, the self-acclaimed prophetess claimed that members of her late mother-in-law’s family had worked against her destiny, adding that she believed she had overcome their alleged attacks through divine intervention.
She further warned those she described as witches, wizards and evil people to repent, insisting that they would face God’s judgment if they failed to do so.
The controversial post quickly drew mixed reactions online, with many social media users condemning her for celebrating the death of a family member and questioning the appropriateness of her remarks.
The development has also revived public interest in the couple’s earlier marital controversy.
Ezinne and her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, previously attracted attention after she reportedly made his relocation to Canada conditional on him publicly taking an oath of fidelity.
According to reports, she instructed him to declare in a recorded video that he would die if he became unfaithful to her after relocating, claiming the directive was divinely inspired.
In the now-viral video, Franklin pledged to remain faithful to his wife and family, stating that he accepted the consequences if he violated the oath.
Months later, Ezinne alleged on Facebook that her husband had breached the vow by engaging in an extramarital affair despite making the public declaration.
Her latest comments regarding her late mother-in-law have further intensified public discussion surrounding the family’s long-running dispute.
