Moses Simon has said the Super Eagles do not seek to avenge a semi-final loss they suffered at the 2019 AFCON at the hands of Algeria, Prompt News reports.
Simon insisted that they simply wish to beat the North Africans to advance to the semifinal of AFCON 2025.
It needed a stoppage time free kick goal by Ryad Mahrez for Algeria to stop Nigeria seven years ago on their way to claiming their second AFCON crown.
“That (2-1 defeat against Algeria in 2019 AFCON) is in the past,” insisted the flying Paris FC winger.
“We want to win tomorrow, not just trying to win and we hope we can do so.”
Both teams have won their first four matches in Morocco.
One of them will lose this enviable winning run when they battle for the right to reach the semifinals at the Grand Stade de Marrakech tonight.
