Nigerian music star Burna Boy has been announced as the headline performer for the opening day of the 2026 Reggae Land Festival, making his debut at one of the United Kingdom’s biggest reggae and dancehall events.
The award-winning Afro-fusion singer will take centre stage on July 31 at the Milton Keynes National Bowl, following organisers’ decision to extend the festival to three days after tickets for its original two-day schedule sold out in record time.
The newly added opening day was created in response to overwhelming demand, with Burna Boy leading a star-studded lineup that also features Vybz Kartel, Shenseea, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley, Masicka, Christopher Martin, and Julian Marley.
Prompt News reports the announcement comes days after Burna Boy thrilled football fans during the inaugural FIFA World Cup final halftime show at New York New Jersey Stadium, where he performed alongside Justin Bieber, Madonna, and South Korean pop group BTS.
Born Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy first gained national attention with Like to Party, the lead single from his debut album L.I.F.E released in 2013.
Since then, he has become one of Africa’s most successful global artistes, earning international recognition for his unique Afro-fusion style and a catalogue of critically acclaimed albums.

His projects include L.I.F.E (2013), On a Spaceship (2015), Outside (2018), African Giant (2019), Twice As Tall (2020), Love, Damini (2022), I Told Them (2023), and No Sign of Weakness (2025).
The singer also remains the Nigerian artiste with the highest number of Grammy Award nominations, having earned 13 nominations. He claimed his first Grammy in 2021 after Twice As Tall won the Best World Music Album category.
