Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has signed a new two-year contract with Saudi Women’s Premier League club Al-Ittihad Ladies, extending her stay until 2028, Prompt News Online reports.
The new deal rewards the Nigeria international for her impressive performances since joining the club on a free transfer in September 2023 following the expiration of her contract with English side Leicester City.
The former Notts County defender has established herself as one of Al-Ittihad’s key players, contributing 15 goals and 19 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions.
Plumptre is currently recovering from the foot injury that has kept her out of action since March.
The 28-year-old was left out of Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to allow her focus fully on her rehabilitation and long-term fitness.
Despite missing this year’s tournament, Plumptre remains an integral part of the Super Falcons setup.
She played a key role in Nigeria’s triumph at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, helping the team secure a record-extending 10th continental title.
