President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, NTF, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei stated that with confidence that Nigeria will defeat Uzbekistan in the World Group II Promotion playoffs.

The Davis Cup, organized by the International Tennis Federation, is the premier international team competition in men’s tennis and is widely regarded for its emphasis on national pride and team spirit. Ties typically feature singles and doubles matches played in a home-and-away format.

Nigeria has a long history in the Davis Cup, having competed in the Africa Zone since the early decades of the competition. The event has served as a platform for showcasing Nigerian talent, boosting domestic tennis development and providing players with valuable international exposure.
