By Harry Awurumibe, Editor, Abuja Bureau

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last general election, Mr. Peter Obi has warned that Nigerians will not tolerate a repeat of what happened in the 2023 elections in 2027, especially the “technical glitch” that occurred only during the presidential election.

He gave this warning at the weekend in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state as he and the Obidient Movement continue to mobilize Nigerians into the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a party he intends to seek presidential ticket to run for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2027 presidential election.

In a statement made available to the media by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of Obidient Movement (Worldwide), Obi made it clear to members of the group and ADC faithful that Nigerians will not allow a repeat of what happened in the 2023 election.

Said he: The message is very clear. We will not allow a repeat of what happened in the 2023 election. In 2027, you will either count the votes correctly, or you will be counted. We must all be ready to defend our votes.”

Speaking further, the former governor of Anambra state said: “My dear brothers and sisters of the Obidient Movement in Akwa Ibom state, I bring you warm greetings and unwavering hope.

“From the creeks to the cities, from every village square to every university campus, from every market and professional circle — the time has come to arise in your numbers. The time has come to move from passion to structure, from structure to strategy, and from strategy to victory.

“The Obidient Movement was never just about an election. It is about a new Nigeria — disciplined, competent, compassionate, and accountable. It is about restoring dignity to leadership and power to the people. History will remember that Akwa Ibom stood tall in that struggle.

“Today, I call on every coordinator, every volunteer, every youth leader, every courageous woman, and every wise elder: mobilize from every nook and cranny of our dear state. Organize ward meetings. Strengthen your polling unit structures. Register, revalidate, and align.

“As we consolidate our political strength, we must strategically channel our collective energy into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as our vehicle for transformation and victory in 2027.

“This is not just a political alignment — it is a strategic movement toward winning power to serve the people.
Let no one sit on the sidelines. Let no one say, “My voice does not matter.” Let no one underestimate the power of a united people.

“When we move together, we are unstoppable. When we organize, we win. When we vote, we transform nations.
Akwa Ibom has always been known for strength, resilience, and excellence.

“Now is the moment to translate that strength into structured political participation. Recruit. Register. Educate. Mobilize. Protect the vote.

“Let every ward echo with determination. Let every LGA shine with organization. Let every household hear the message of hope.

“2027 is not just another election year — it is a defining moment. Victory will not come by wishful thinking; it will come through disciplined mobilization.

“Rise, Obidients of Akwa Ibom. Rise in your thousands. Rise in unity. Rise in strategy. Rise in commitment.
Together, under one banner and with one purpose, we march toward 2027 — and by the grace of God and the strength of the people, we shall prevail.

“Collectively, we will ensure that Peter Obi becomes President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, because he has the energy, integrity, and capacity to build a new Nigeria.

“Arise and shine, for a New Nigeria is Possible.”
