Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has regained his freedom following an appeal court ruling that overturned his previous conviction.
The news was confirmed by fellow actor and supporter Yomi Fabiyi, who took to Instagram on Friday to celebrate Baba Ijesha’s release. Fabiyi expressed his relief and joy, writing: “You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER.”
He further stated that the appellate court cleared the actor of all allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor, adding: “I am also happy you were cleared by the APPEAL COURT of ever having sex/defile any child/minor. The 7-year-old story is a charade. We live in a terrible world, where sentiments and wickedness rise above the rule of law and truth.”

Prompt News reports in April 2024, the actor filed an appeal, claiming he had been framed and was only “acting according to a script” provided by a colleague. His release marks a pivotal development in a case that has captured public attention for years.
