Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has revealed that a firm warning from her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi, prompted her to stop smoking cigarettes.
Speaking on the Morayo Show, the actress described Ajeyemi as one of the greatest blessings in her life, praising him for supporting her while encouraging positive changes.
According to Abraham, she previously smoked cigarettes and still occasionally uses a vape, but quit smoking cigarettes after becoming pregnant.
“Kolawole Ajeyemi is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. He lets me be me. I used to smoke cigarettes. I still smoke vape once in a while. But I stopped smoking cigarettes,” she said.
“My husband told me something when I got pregnant that ‘you know you can no longer smoke’.”
She recalled that after welcoming their child, Ajeyemi saw her smoking during an outing but did not react immediately. Instead, he later told her he would not allow their child to be exposed to cigarette smoking.
“When I gave birth, we went out, and he saw me smoking; he did not say anything. But he told me that he did not say I should not smoke cigarettes, but must not see the butt with his child,” she said.
“He warned that anytime he sees such, that would be the end of the marriage.”

Prompt News reports Abraham also spoke about how her husband handles the romantic scenes she performs in films, saying he understands the demands of her profession.
“About kissing in movies, my husband is mature. He is not a boy. He is a man. Most of my colleagues’ wives are comfortable with me. I can do every other thing. But ‘promiscuity’ is not one of them,” she said.
“God has blessed me with a platform now; I do not have to kiss anybody like years past.”
