Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has weighed in on the tragic road accident in Ogun State that reportedly nearly cost boxing star Anthony Joshua his life and claimed the lives of two of his close friends.
In a video circulating online, Anjorin openly criticised Joshua’s mother, questioning her decision to allow the former world heavyweight champion to travel to his hometown during the festive period.
According to the actress, the 36-year-old boxer should have restricted his movements to upscale areas such as Lekki and Ikoyi, which she described as safer locations.
Speaking in the video, Anjorin said: “Anthony Joshua’s mother is to blame. She didn’t put her son in a better place like Lekki or Ikoyi, she watched him go back to his village for the festivities. What reasonable mother would watch her son go back to that kind of place? Why couldn’t she put him somewhere like Ikoyi or Banana Island?”
