The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has denied the claims making round in some section of the media that the Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro contract has been extended for another one year.
The federation General Secretary, Dr.Muhammed Sanusi disclosed this to Prompt News in a chat, stating that the Portuguese Contract was tied to the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 which the continental body CAF shifted to January 2024 billed for Cote d’Voire.
“It is unfortunate that some people are busy writing falsehood. Honestly the leadership of the football house has not held any meeting wit Peseiro over his contract or extension. For now the eagles coach has a valid contract till Nations Cup. Sanusi explained.
He also stated that Peseiro was not give any condition , taking the super eagles to the semi-final of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
He added ” if the federation is to renew his contract , it must be a collective decision taking by the Executive Board.
“His performance would also be assessed after the Nations cup before opening a fresh discussion with him. Our focus now is to prepare the team for super outing in Ivory Coast.”
