The Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL) has given its full endorsement to Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the preferred candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
In a statement released by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, the group hailed Seyi Tinubu as a well-qualified, educated, and capable individual, fit to lead Lagos into a new era of growth and prosperity.
This endorsement comes in response to a prophecy by Prelate Elijah Ayodele of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, who recently claimed that Seyi Tinubu, along with Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Gbenga Ashafa, should abandon their governorship aspirations.
Instead, Ayodele suggested that Hakeem Muri-Okunola, Principal Secretary to President Tinubu, was destined to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
CONYL, however, rejected Ayodele’s prophecy, pointing to his history of failed predictions, such as his inaccurate forecast that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would win the 2023 presidential election over President Tinubu.
The group reiterated its strong belief in Seyi Tinubu’s widespread popularity among Lagosians and his ability to bring about significant development in the state.
“Seyi Tinubu is loved and supported by the people of Lagos, and we are confident he will emerge victorious as the next governor in 2027,” the statement concluded.
