Nigeria’s Super Falcons will step up their preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with an international friendly against Tanzania on Thursday, Prompt News Online reports.
The warm-up encounter will take place at the La Noria Sports Complex in Casablanca and is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 p.m. local time.
The fixture will serve as the reigning African champions’ final test before the start of the continental showpiece, giving head coach Justine Madugu another opportunity to fine-tune his tactics and assess the fitness and sharpness of his squad.
The Super Falcons had initially been billed to face Ghana’s Black Queens in a friendly last Saturday, but the match was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, forcing the technical crew to arrange an alternative test.
Madugu’s side have been training in Casablanca since arriving in Morocco last week, with the coaching staff intensifying preparations as they bid to successfully defend the continental crown.
Following Thursday’s clash, the Super Falcons will travel to Rabat this weekend, where they will be based for their Group C campaign.
Nigeria, who are aiming to win a record-extending 11th WAFCON title, will open their title defence against the Scorchers of Malawi at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat next Tuesday.
The ten-time champions will then take on the Copper Queens of Zambia in their second group fixture before rounding off the group stage against Egypt.
