Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has dismissed speculation suggesting he is romantically involved with actress and reality TV star Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan, popularly known as Bambam, amid online rumours about her alleged separation from her husband, Teddy A.
Speaking during an interview with BBC Igbo shared on Thursday, Arukwe clarified that his relationship with colleagues in the movie industry is strictly professional. He explained that he is particularly cautious when filming romantic or physical scenes with married co-stars to avoid causing problems in their personal lives.
“I met Bambam for the first time when we shot that movie and before filming, I was always asking my co-lead actor if it is okay to touch them in a certain way, especially the married ones because I don’t want them to have problems at home,” he said.
The actor, who gained wider recognition for his role in Love in Every Word, noted that whenever a script includes intimate scenes, he makes sure to get his co-stars’ approval before proceeding.
According to him, such scenes are part of acting and should not be interpreted as anything beyond professional work.
