Flamingos head coach Bankole Olowookere heaped plaudits on his players despite the 2-0 loss to USA.
The Nigerian girls crashed out from the ongoing 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup following the defeat.
The Americans scored the curtain raiser through Kennedy Fuller three minutes before the break.
Prompt News reports that Kimmi Ascanio netted the second on 73 minutes.
Olowookere stated that his players gave their all in the encounter.
“I’m so proud of the girls, they’ve given it their best, come all this way and they are kids who are developing.
“They’ve given their best but maybe their best was not good enough,” he was quoted by FIFA.com.
“To my fellow Nigerians, we can go beyond this level and we will try and be better next time.”
