Nigerian singer Terry G has come to Burna Boy’s defence after a video went viral showing the afrobeats star asking a couple to leave his concert for falling asleep during the performance.
The incident had sparked controversy and led some fans to boycott Burna Boy’s shows.
Speaking on the clip, Terry G questioned why anyone would attend a music event only to fall asleep, noting that such behaviour would not be tolerated in a religious setting.
Terry G argued that the criticism Burna Boy is facing is largely because of his fame. He said that if a similar situation occurred in a church, ushers would immediately wake the person, yet people expect Burna Boy to ignore it simply because he is an entertainer.

Prompt News reports he added that moments like this are often captured on camera and used to tarnish an artist’s performance, which he believes is unfair.
“Una too like to dey hold people accountable just because say dey don be public figure. If it happened in a church and someone was found sleeping, would the pastors not ask the ushers to wake them up? Because he’s musician, you are going to his show to sleep, so the camera can capture that moment and spoil his show,” Terry G said.
