Aston Villa Women have announced the signing of Super Falcons defender Rofiat Imuran on a permanent transfer, Prompt News Online reports.
The 22-year-old becomes Villa’s ninth signing of the summer as the club continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Imuran joins Natalia Arroyo’s side from London City Lionesses, where she continued her development after moving to English football in 2024.
The versatile left-back began her professional career in France with Stade de Reims, making 27 league appearances and scoring seven goals across two seasons.
Imuran has also gained valuable experience on the international stage with Nigeria.
She was part of the Super Falcons squad at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and also represented the nine-time African champions at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The defender expressed her delight after completing the move to Aston Villa.
“I’m very excited to be here and I want to achieve a lot of things,” Imuran said.
“It’s a big club with a lot of history, and it has big ambitions, and I want to be part of it.”
Aston Villa’s Director of Women’s Football, Marisa Ewers, welcomed Imuran to the club and highlighted the qualities she will bring to the team.
“Rofiat is an exciting young defender who already has good experience in English football and at international level,” Ewers said.
“She brings pace, energy and quality to our defensive options, and we believe her attributes are a really good fit for how Natalia wants the team to play.
“As a club, we have ambitions to build stronger connections across Africa and continue to identify and develop exciting talent from the continent. Rofiat’s arrival is another positive step in that direction.
“We’re delighted to welcome her to Aston Villa and look forward to seeing her continue to develop with us.”
