William Troost-Ekong and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru have said the Super Eagles were unlucky against Rwanda.
The West Africans were held to a 0-0 draw by their hosts in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles created better chances in the game played at the Amahoro Stadium, Kigali.
“We threw everything at them, but it just didn’t go in, we were unlucky,” lamented midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who started for the Super Eagles in Kigali.
“We played well, but we couldn’t finish off the chances we created.
“It was the result we wanted, but with everything considered we will take this result.”
Captain Troost-Ekong admitted it was difficult to play on the road on account of the artificial pitch and some “questionable decisions”.
However, he said the Super Eagles would have won had they put away the chances they got.
“Rwanda set up their team well,” Ekong said.
“We created chances and on a different day, it would have been a different result (in Super Eagles favour).”
