Members of Nigeria’s Super Eagles have received their national honours certificates alongside housing and land allocations, Prompt News reports.
The rewards were tied to their runner-up finish at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
National Sports Commission ,NSC, Chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, alongside Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, President Ibrahim Musa Gusau and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports Sen. Abdul Ningi, confirmed that the honours were issued as MON or OON in line with existing awards already held by players.
The housing and land grants approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, have been fully processed with Certificates of Occupancy issued.
The event was held at the Super Eagles hotel in Fez, Morocco on Monday night.
The fulfilment of the pledge is expected to boost the morale of the players as they begin their quest for a fourth AFCON title against the Taifa Stars on Tanzania on Tuesday (today).
Eric Chelle’s side will open their AFCON 2025 campaign against Tanzania tonight.
