Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has kind words for Ademola Lookman despite his side’s defeat to Real Madrid, Prompt News reports.
Simeone’s side lost 3-2 to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday night.
Lookman opened scoring for the Rojiblancos in the 33rd minute with a close-range finish.
It was the Nigeria international’s second league of the season.
Simeone was satisfied with the winger’s performance despite his team’s defeat.
“Ademola Lookman is improving, working very well, giving us different things. We’re helping him grow defensively because he has that work ethic. He’s a player with a big heart and a desire to learn. Hopefully he keeps giving us important things like today,” Simeone said after the game.
The 28-year-old linked up with Atletico from Serie A club Atalanta during the January transfer window.
He has so far scored five goals, and registered three assists in 14 appearances across all competitions for the club.
