Popular Nigerian dancer and social media personality Jane Mena has shared an emotional testimony after her young son narrowly escaped what could have been a serious accident at their home.
According to Mena, the incident occurred on December 24, 2025, when her one-year-and-ten-month-old toddler unexpectedly opened a room door and made his way toward the staircase. She explained that the child, who had never attempted such before, was rescued just in time before falling.
At the time, the dancer revealed she was in the bathroom preparing his bath water, despite still recovering from a broken leg. Alarmed by his cry, she said she rushed out and managed to catch him.
Taking to social media to recount the experience, Mena expressed gratitude to God for intervening and keeping her son safe.
“I don’t know how God held up my son till he cried out. Bobo has never climbed this ever, ever. This was very shocking. Plus, I’m never far away from my kids unless someone trusted is there with them,” she wrote.
Detailing the moments leading up to the scare, she added, “See these two cocofelons I locked inside the room, left them playing and building with their Cubes, went to the bathroom to get their bath water ready, little did I know, our very own papa can now open our Room door with so much ease.”
Reflecting on how quickly things could have gone wrong, Mena said, “One minute the kids are here, the next they are not. Thank you lord Jesus. May your name be praised through the roof and high up to the heavens?”
She noted that the experience has since changed her son’s behaviour around the stairs.
“Ever since that day, Bobo has always calling me to help him go down the stairs,” she shared.

Although the moment was terrifying, Mena said she is now able to look back with gratitude.
“So glad I can laugh about this. It wasn’t funny when I was running to catch him, not minding my own broken leg that’s still healing. I’m so grateful, so grateful,” she wrote.
She concluded by describing the incident as a testimony, adding, “When Daddy came back, I pleaded with him to help me get this footage because this is my testimony today. Praise Thy lord.”
Prompt News reports the dancer’s story has since drawn reactions from fans, many of whom praised her honesty and joined her in thanking God for her son’s safety.
