Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has made history again, officially becoming a three-time Guinness World Records (GWR) holder after being recognized for the largest serving of rice.
Baci announced the achievement on Instagram, sharing an email from Andrew Fanning of the Guinness World Records team.
The message revealed that during a review of her June attempt for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, GWR discovered she had also surpassed the global record for the largest serving of rice.
Fanning explained that the additional record was awarded “proactively”: “It has come to our attention when comparing record guidelines of the two record titles that when you and your team attempted and achieved ‘Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice’ you also achieved the record title of ‘Largest serving of rice’ so you have been proactively awarded this record title too,” the email read in part.
He added: “Many congratulations from me on behalf of Guinness World Records, you are Officially Amazing (again)!”
Responding to the news, Baci described her surprise and delight: “Woke up a three-time Guinness World Records holder and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it,” she wrote.
She reflected on the achievement as a reminder of God’s faithfulness: “What a way to step into 2026. This morning, I was just doing my usual routine, casually scrolling through my emails, when I saw the message come in. I was shocked and happy at the same time, completely caught off guard.

“Five months after the initial record announcement, I was just finding out that there was more. Honestly, God is faithful. The kind of faithful that still surprises you.
“This feels like such a beautiful reminder that even when you think you’ve seen the full picture, God can still say, ‘There’s more.’ What a blessing, and what a way to enter this new year.”
Guinness World Records also credited food brand Gino as a co-holder of the feat, noting that the record-setting dish weighed over 8,000 kilograms.
“The largest serving of rice is 8,780 kg (19,356 lb, 9 oz) and was achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino (all Nigeria), in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria, on 12 September 2025,” the Guinness blog stated.
Baci had previously earned her second Guinness World Record on September 12, 2025, for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing 8,780kg. The attempt, held at Eko Hotels and Suites, drew celebrities, dignitaries, and members of royalty.
Prompt News reports she first entered the Guinness World Records in May 2023 after setting the record for the longest individual cooking marathon.
