Enugu State Governor, Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, has rewarded players and officials of Rangers International following the club’s historic triumph in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Prompt News Online reports.
The governor announced the reward package during a state banquet after the team’s trophy parade through the streets of Enugu.
Rangers clinched their record-equalling ninth NPFL title, becoming only the second club in the league’s history to achieve the feat.
Speaking at the event, Governor Mbah commended the players, coaches, and management for their outstanding performance throughout the campaign and unveiled a ₦150 million cash reward.
According to the governor, ₦100 million will be shared among the players, while ₦50 million has been allocated to members of the club’s management team.
In addition to the financial reward, all players and management staff were presented with Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for plots of land in Enugu State.
Governor Mbah also pledged to upgrade the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium ahead of Rangers’ participation in next season’s CAF Champions League. He noted that the planned improvements would also support preparations for the 2026 Coal City Games.
The announcements were met with excitement from players and club officials as celebrations continued for a memorable title-winning campaign.
Rangers will now turn their attention to continental football as they prepare to represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League next season.
