Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Friday, January 17, issued an order for the demolition of properties associated with 16 suspected kidnappers recently arrested in the state.
The governor stated that the demolition should take immediate effect as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime.
The directive follows the recent arrests of kidnappers in the Edo Central district. Governor Okpebholo further called on security agencies to intensify raids on suspected hideouts of criminals throughout the state.
He emphasized that demolishing properties linked to criminals, particularly kidnappers, would act as a strong deterrent for others.
Governor Okpebholo reaffirmed his commitment to security in the state, saying, “Criminals terrorizing Edo State will have no place to hide, as security operatives are fully empowered to apprehend them wherever they are. We have also procured 75 Toyota Hilux vans to enhance the security of our citizens.”
