Best Amakhian, founder of Glitch Studios, has spoken publicly for the first time about the circumstances surrounding OAP Nedu’s departure from the Honest Bunch podcast, following the controversy stirred by allegations from social media figure VeryDarkMan.
Back in February, Nedu came under intense scrutiny after being accused of sexual misconduct and fraud — claims he strongly denied.
In response, he issued a pre-litigation notice demanding ₦500 million in damages for defamation. The backlash eventually led to his exit from the podcast.

In a new episode released on Monday, Best revealed that he made several efforts to encourage Nedu to remain on the show but said the OAP ultimately decided to walk away.
“This is a Glitch Africa-owned podcast. We develop content ideas, finance it, and market it. This is not the only show under the network. We have shows in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa,” he said.
“At the height of the controversy, we felt it was best for him to take some time out, to sort out these things. We reached out to him as a team, saying, ‘We see what the blogs are saying. We see the issue. We recommend that you take a few weeks off’.”
He explained that the plan was to release a statement saying Nedu was stepping aside temporarily, but Nedu rejected that suggestion.
“At the time, we told him, and he said it was not the best move for him. He would rather leave the show than accept that option,” Best said.
“He said he would rather leave the show and posted that he was leaving and not coming back. I have known him for years. We have a personal relationship. I thought after the heat, maybe we would have a conversation like two guys. I allowed that to happen as he announced his exit.”
Best added that he tried to revisit the conversation weeks later, hoping for a resolution, but Nedu made it clear he had moved on.
“Weeks later, I had to build some conversations, but he told me that he was done and that we should move on.”
Also addressing the situation, co-host Husband Material said he respected Nedu’s decision to leave and noted that the choice was personal.
“We are friends. I know that some people have said you should define friendship. You can be friends with someone, and they are not friends with you. We are friends. We work closely together,” he said.
“We have collaborated for well over 10 years. But you cannot force somebody to do what they do not want to do.
“For me, it was a personal decision. And the decision was based on the hard work and the efforts that we have put into this. Everybody with their personal decisions.”
