The family of the late Chief Samuel Ayodele Adebanjo has officially announced the schedule for his burial rites.
In a statement obtained on Monday, the family confirmed that the esteemed nationalist and Afenifere leader will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Prompt News reports that Chief Adebanjo, a respected statesman and advocate for democracy, passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 96.
As part of the burial activities, a Day of Tributes and Service of Songs will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.
A wake is planned for Friday, May 2, 2025, at his country home in Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025, at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, followed by interment.
A thanksgiving service will take place at the same church on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
The family has called for prayers and support as they prepare to give him a befitting farewell, while also inviting well-wishers and associates to join in celebrating his legacy.
