The Minister of Sports Development, Senator John Owan Enoh proudly declared open the eagerly awaited 2nd Edition of the National Para Games, marking the commencement of an inspiring showcase of resilience, determination, and extraordinary sporting talent.
The National Para Games, a testament to inclusivity and support for athletes with disabilities, commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja, attracting participants from various states across the nation.
The Games stand as a beacon of empowerment and encouragement for athletes with disabilities to pursue their passion for sports at a competitive level.
Senator John Owan Enoh, in his inaugural address, highlighted the significance of the National Para Games as a platform to celebrate the spirit and remarkable abilities of para-athletes.
He emphasized the government’s will to promote inclusivity in sports, providing equal opportunities for all athletes to excel and represent their states and the nation with pride.
The Minister expressed admiration for the dedication and perseverance exhibited by the para-athletes, commending their courage and tenacity in overcoming challenges to participate in this prestigious event.
He reiterated the government’s unwavering support for para-sports, acknowledging the pivotal role such initiatives play in fostering unity, resilience, and national pride.
The 2nd Edition of the National Para Games encompasses a diverse range of sporting disciplines, offering a platform for para-athletes to showcase their prowess in various events.

Dignitaries at the Opening Ceremony included the Honourable Minister for State, for Youth Development, Hon. Ayodele Olawande, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isa, the Directors of the Ministry and other sports directors from various states.
