Nasarawa State lawmaker, Jacob Kudu, has given out N2 million cash to 500 elderly and aged persons in his Nasarawa Eggon East constituency.

He said this would enable them to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr at ease.

Kudu, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Nasarawa Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC), distributed the money to them on Monday  at Nassarawa Eggon  LGA.

The lawmaker emphasised the importance of supporting the elderly population amidst the economic challenges faced by the nation.

” The elderly needs to be supported, considering the effect of subsidy removal and hardship in the country.

” This act of benevolence reflects my commitment to addressing the welfare needs of vulnerable groups within my constituency,” he said.

He urged citizens to rally behind the policies of President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule, emphasising their potentials to usher in a new era of prosperity for Nigeria.

“It is crucial that we support the visionary leadership of President Tinubu and Gov. Sule to help Nigeria achieve its renewed hope.

“Together, we can overcome our challenges and build a brighter future for all,” he said.

The lawmaker assured the constituents of sound and quality representation at the state legislature.

Responding, Mallam Yusuf Abdullahi, a beneficiary, appreciated Kudu for the gesture and prayed God to bless him abundantly.

” We are deeply grateful to Hon. Jacob Ajegana Kudu for remembering us during this festive season

” This support will enable us to celebrate Sallah with joy,” Abdullahi said.

He assured the lawmaker of the people’s support at all times. (NAN)
