The Economic Community of West African States has commenced applications for its 2027 Young Graduates Immersion Programme, offering young Nigerians and other eligible citizens of member states a fully funded one-year professional placement across ECOWAS institutions and agencies.
The regional bloc announced the programme in a notice published on July 31, inviting qualified young graduates to apply for the career development initiative.
According to ECOWAS, the programme is designed to provide participants with practical professional experience while contributing to regional integration and development across West Africa.
The organisation said the initiative would also enable participants to acquire advanced skills by working alongside experienced professionals in various sectors.
Eligibility
ECOWAS said applicants must be citizens of any of its member states, including Nigeria.
Prospective candidates must also be 32 years old or younger and possess a degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised higher institution.

Applications opened on July 31, 2026, and will close on August 31, 2026.
Application Process
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the ECOWAS Young Graduates Immersion Programme portal.
The application process involves creating an account, completing personal and contact information, providing academic and professional details, uploading required documents such as a degree certificate, curriculum vitae and motivation letter, reviewing the information supplied and submitting the completed application.
Benefits for Successful Applicants
ECOWAS said successful candidates would spend one year working within its institutions and specialised agencies on projects that promote regional integration.
Participants will also benefit from professional work experience, advanced training, personalised mentorship, leadership development opportunities and access to a network of regional and international experts.
The regional body noted that the programme is aimed at nurturing the next generation of African professionals while strengthening cooperation and sustainable development across member states.
