Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Davido has apologised to fans after failing to appear at a scheduled performance in Lagos, citing difficulties in securing aviation fuel.
The artiste, born David Adeleke, was expected to headline an event alongside Zlatan Ibile at Secret Place in Ikate Elegushi on Sunday as part of the venue’s fifth anniversary celebration.
However, his absence at the show sparked reactions from fans who had gathered in anticipation.
Addressing the situation via his Instagram story on Monday, Davido attributed the development to logistical challenges linked to fuel shortages, which disrupted his travel plans.
“The world happened to me yesterday. These wars around the world have really started penetrating. Finding fuel was a problem yesterday to even fly. Everything had to be rescheduled,” he said.
Prompt News reports he went on to apologise to fans for missing the performance, assuring them that the event would be rescheduled.
