Afrobeats star Davido has spoken about the longstanding relationship between his family and billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote, revealing that the business mogul has been offering him financial advice since he was a child.
Davido made the disclosure during a recent interview, where he described Dangote as a longtime associate of his father, businessman Adedeji Adeleke.
The singer said the relationship between the two families goes back several decades, adding that Dangote has remained consistent with his advice whenever they meet.
“Anytime I see him, he still tells me, ‘David, save your money.’ He’s been saying that since I was a baby,” the singer said.
Davido also revealed that Dangote was present around the time he was born, claiming that the billionaire drove his mother home from the hospital after she gave birth to him.
According to the artiste, Dangote’s repeated advice about saving and managing money has remained relevant throughout his career in the entertainment industry.

He noted that despite his growth and success as a global music star, Dangote has continued to encourage him to be financially responsible.
