Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle wants to strengthen his squad with more foreign-born players, Prompt News reports.
According to reports, a number of dual-nationality stars have expressed interest in representing Nigeria.
Defenders Felix Agu, and Ryan Alebiosu made their debuts under Chelle, while Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo recently committed his international future to Nigeria.
Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez is the latest player to show interest in playing for the Super Eagles.
Chelle said he will work to pick players who can bring competition to the team.
“We have a couple of players who were born abroad, who want to play for the team and we are looking at how they will fit in. We can’t bring all of them into the team,” Chelle said in quotes shared by Super Eagles Supporters Club (@official_esclub on X).
“We will however pick those that we know can bring competition to the team, improve the team and also fit our game project.”
