The Confederation of African Football, CAF, will clarify the situation surrounding Morocco’s willingness to host the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations this week, Prompt News reports.
Morocco is due to host the tournament for the third straight edition from March 17 to April 3.
There are however speculations the tournament will be postponed.
“There has been several discussions for weeks. The matter is receiving urgent and high level attention,” CAF’s communications chief Luxolo September said on X on Wednesday.
Morocco also hosted delayed 2024 edition of the competition.
This tournament’s edition will run from March 17 and end April 3, 2026.
The semifinalists will advance to next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
