Veteran highlife musician Bright Chimezie has refuted the notion that consuming alcohol or smoking can fuel an artist’s creativity.
Speaking on the CreativTea Podcast, the Because English singer described such beliefs as misleading, emphasizing that these habits are purely for leisure.

“The claims that you need to drink or smoke to get music inspiration is false. If you are drinking or smoking, you are just having fun. That doesn’t mean it will boost your creativity,” Chimezie explained.
He further stressed that true artistic inspiration arises naturally and is not dependent on substances.
