Big Brother Naija has honoured three of its former contestants who have passed away — Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey.
On Monday, housemates of the ongoing season gathered as the images of the late stars appeared on the screen. The moment was followed by a minute of silence to pay respects to their memory.

Francisca Owumi, who was the runner-up in the debut 2006 season, was celebrated for her vibrant personality, love for dance, and free-spirited character. She sadly passed away in 2024 after a prolonged illness.
Joseph “Joe” Ada, also a participant in the first season, was remembered for his contribution to the show before his death in May 2023 due to health-related issues.
Rico Swavey, whose real name was Patrick Fakoya, featured in the 2018 Double Wahala season. He was praised for his creativity and calmness but tragically died in a car accident in 2022.
