Armed bandits have launched another attack on Lata Nna community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, abducting a resident and heightening concerns over the growing insecurity in the area.
The victim, identified as Mohammed Abubakar Ndapkada, was reportedly seized during the attack, which occurred between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Community sources disclosed that shortly after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted residents to confirm that Mohammed was in their custody.
During the call, the abductors reportedly allowed him to speak briefly with his brother.
According to the sources, the victim informed his brother that he had been blindfolded and was unable to determine where he was being held.
As of the time of filing this report, the abductors had yet to make any ransom demand or state conditions for his release.
The latest incident comes only weeks after security operatives foiled a similar attack in the same community, underscoring the persistent threat posed by armed groups in Patigi Local Government Area.
Following the fresh attack, residents renewed calls on the Kwara State Government, the Federal Government and security agencies to intensify operations in the area and secure the release of the abducted resident.
