Femi Azeez has been called up to replace Samuel Chukwueze in Nigeria’s squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal, Prompt News Online reports.
Chukwueze has been excused from both fixtures for personal reasons following the burial of his late mother in Abia State earlier this week.
Azeez earned the invitation after an impressive debut for the Super Eagles, where he scored both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe.
The Super Eagles are set to take on Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz in the final of the Unity Cup on Saturday night, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nigeria time.
Following the tournament, Éric Chelle’s side will travel to Warsaw for a friendly against Poland on Wednesday, before facing Portugal in Leiria on June 10.
The two games will serve as part of the Super Eagles preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
