Late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo and his wife, Anwuli Amakom Ekubo, are reportedly expecting a child, following a remark made by the traditional ruler of his hometown.
Prompt News reports the Eze of Arochukwu in Abia State, Alex’s hometown, made the revelation during the wake-keep proceedings for the actor’s funeral activities.
It was gathered that on Wednesday, June 17, Alex’s body was taken to his hometown ahead of the wake-keep held on Thursday, June 18.
During a stop at the Eze Aro of Arochukwu’s palace, the monarch offered prayers over the casket of the late actor.
While praying, the traditional ruler expressed hope that Alex’s lineage would continue, also stating that there were reports suggesting his wife may be pregnant.
“While praying, he asked God to ensure that Alex’s lineage doesn’t end. He further claimed that they received news that Alex’s wife was pregnant, and he prayed that the child would achieve greater exploits than his popular father.”
However, the claim has not been independently verified by the late actor’s family at the time of filing this report. Nonetheless, the remarks have sparked reactions and hope among some Nigerians.
