Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) in collaboration with UNICEF has begun the 2021/2022 Enrollment Drive Campaign and Back School targeting 180,000 children.

Mr Jika Abdulhamid, Director Quality Assurance of the board, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Yola.

Abdulhamid said that the board had deployed 42 personnel across the 21 local government areas of the state for advocacy and sensitisation to facilitate successful implementation of the exercise.

“The activity will take place in over 1,900 primary schools and we are targeting 180,000 children to be enrolled back to school,” he said, adding that the personal were expected to meet with all stakeholders at the grassroots.

The director said that the school supervisors would on Thursday meet at the Zonal level to sensitise members of the School Base Management Committees (SBMCs), Teachers Union and Faith Base Organisations (FBOs).

According to him, the enrollment will commence on Friday Sept. 17.

The exercise, he said, was crucial towards sustainable development of basic education sector as well as ensuring that children especially girl child and Persons with Disabilities get access to quality education in the state. (NAN)
