ASABA – By Okiemute Okpomor Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his Sokoto State counterpart, Aminu Tambuwal have said that dialogue rather than violent agitations would bring about speedy development of the country in general and the Niger Delta in particular.
The two governors made this submission in Asaba on Saturday, August 27, 2016 during the Day 2 of the Economic and Investment Summit put together as part of activities to mark the 25th anniversary of the
creation of Delta State..
According to the governors, the security challenges in the Niger Delta region in particular could not have degenerated to the situation where the country was losing huge revenue as a result of destruction of
Pipelines.
They opined that if the people involved had applied dialogue, noting that the region has great potentials for growth when the resources of the region is adequately harnessed which according to them can only be done in a peaceful environment.
