The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested eight suspected criminals linked to cases of conspiracy, murder, kidnapping and unlawful possession of firearms.
The suspects, identified as Sule Dairu (25), Ali Bello (25), Mohammodu Hammed (21), Ali Salihu Medoki (25), Ori Gambo a.k.a. Gambo Alhaji (20), Shaibu Umaru a.k.a. Gahi (45), Ibrahim Abdullahi a.k.a. Rusku (27) and Suberu Lawal (40), were accused of killing two men and abducting three others in Odo Ayedun-Ekiti.
According to police investigations, on May 7, 2025, around 10 p.m., a gang of about ten armed men invaded Isah Camp in the community, where they shot dead one Mohammodu Ibrahim and kidnapped four others.
One of the abductees, Ibrahim Baba, was later killed despite ransom payments by his family.
The police said the arrested suspects confessed to their involvement and explained the roles each of them played during and after the attack.
Recovered items belonging to the victims included a Tecno mobile phone, clothes and slippers.
The suspects have been charged to court and remanded at the Correctional Service Centre.

Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, reaffirmed the Command’s zero tolerance for crime and urged residents to remain vigilant and work closely with security agencies.
