No fewer than seven countries have booked their tickets for the 24-team expanded FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup holding from October 17 to November 8, 2025 in the Kingdom of Morocco in Africa.

Prompt News reports that host nation Morocco and six other countries from Asia Football Confederation (AFC) namely China, Japan, North Korea and South Korea have already qualified for the tournament.

Also, two countries from the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC), New Zealand and Samoa have booked their tickets to participate in the global women’s football fiesta being staged in the African soil for the first time-ever later in the year.

Meanwhile, Nigeria will start her African qualifiers from the second round which starts in the weekend of March 7 to 9, 2025 against the winner of the Gabon versus South Africa two-legged first round matches which will be concluded on January 19, 2025.

In the same vein, the four representatives of South America (CONMEBOL) and five teams representing Europe (UEFA) in the tournament will emerge from the 2025 South American U-17 Women’s Championship in Colombia in May and 2025 UEFA U-17 Women’s Championship in Faroe Islands from May 6 to 16, 2025.

Host Morocco has become the first African nation to host this prestigious tournament.

The U-17 Women’s World Cup, which began in 2008 in New Zealand, traveled to diverse locations over the years, including Trinidad and Tobago, Azerbaijan, Costa Rica, Jordan, Uruguay, India, and the Dominican Republic.

The 2025 edition in Morocco will kick off a new chapter for the competition, with its expansion to 24 teams and a shift to an annual schedule.

Morocco is quickly becoming a key player in global football, with the country set to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.

These milestones reflect Morocco’s growing passion for the sport and its commitment to bringing major football events to the region.
