The Super Eagles of Nigeria laboured to a 2-1 victory over Lesotho in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday nine encounter in Polokwane on Friday night.
Nigeria had the largest share of possession in the first half but failed to carve out any real scoring chance.
Captain William Troost-Ekong gave the Super Eagles the lead from the spot in the 55th minute.
Substitute Jerome Akor Adams doubled the advantage 10 minutes from time.
Akor slotted home from inside the box after he was set up by Victor Osimhen.
Hlompho Kalake reduced the deficit for Lesotho in the 83rd minute.
Kalake profited from an error from Stanley Nwabali to score for the hosts.
The Super Eagles will host Benin Republic in their last group game next week Tuesday.
